Maddie Lane is a journalist, writer, performer, director, vocal instructor, and acting coach currently residing in Los Angeles, California. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where she graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Political Science, as well as an M.F.A in Theatre.

Maddie is the former Sports Editor and a beat reporter for NSM Today, the student-run digital news outlet at UCF. As Sports Editor, she coordinated and managed the daily operations of the Sports section. She was also the first female Sports Editor in NSM Today's history. As a beat reporter, she focused on the College of Medicine and Student Health Services, as well as covered a variety of other University topics as a multimedia journalist.

Maddie also served as the Theatre UCF beat reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, with responsibilities including the assimilation and publication of a variety of multimedia news packages. She served as an Intern for the Sentinel as well, covering the Arts and Things to Do beat.

A professional performer since she was a teenager, Maddie worked as an Equity Principal Performer at Walt Disney World as well as a Performer at Universal Studios Orlando. She held the position of Development Manager, a Teaching Artist, and Show Director at Theatre South Playhouse from 2017 - 2022 and is currently the proud owner of her own studio, m.Studio Voice and Acting. She also served as a Director at the Youth Academy of Dramatic Arts and as a Board Member for Orlando Family Stage. She is a proud member of Actor's Equity and SAG-AFTRA unions.

Maddie recently completed the first-draft manuscript of her debut young adult novel, east coast kids, for her MFA thesis. The novel examines the ways in which America’s criminal justice system is ill-equipped in handling cases of sexual assault, how difficult it is for victims to pursue prosecution, and how easy it is for perpetrators to get away with such crimes due to precedents set in the legal system.
